Stirring Communications: spring newsletter #003

It's May! And it's still cold. As we pray for some spring sunshine before we set off on our annual Content Soup camping trip, we take a tour back of the last few months and what's been happening in our worlds.

Thanks, as always, for being interested.

A Big Birthday in Barcelona
In February, we celebrated a milestone 10 years in business with a wild and wonderful weekend trip to Barcelona. We booked ourselves a swish hotel, ate a lot of pinchos and drank the Spanish bars dry of sangria. It's such a cool city, love the vibes there and we came away really proud of everything we've achieved at Content Soup in the last decade. Best thing we ever did.

Celebrating some great work
We've delivered some exceptional results for our clients recently, as always, but 2024 has seen us level up once again. Take our debut PR campaign for Unity Mutual, which generated over 50 pieces of coverage in the first week alone with a news angle around our biggest financial regrets. Or the double page spread on the Leeds property market in The Times, with our client Manning Stainton name checked all over it. Then there was the campaign we delivered for a gas company around carbon monoxide safety, which got on 52 radio stations and had a reach of 149m! We also celebrated an award win with our client Escapism Bar Group and launched Leeds' most 'out there' bottomless brunch' on Call Lane, with influencers queuing up to try it. Not forgetting the music festival we promoted in Rotherham, landing some super positive TV coverage for the Children's Capital of Culture team.

Pitches and proposals
We don't really have to pitch much these days, winning most of our work through word of mouth and chemistry meetings. Last week, though, we dusted off our pitching boots and went to an 'IRL' meeting in a fancy place where we delivered a stellar presentation to some clever people. Even if we don't win, it was great practice and reminded us that we are actually pretty good at it!

Things we're loving at the moment
Bluebells, not having the heating on in the office, Baby Reindeer, Anatomy of a Fall, All of Us Strangers, daily walk rituals, reading The Festishist (Nina) and Christ on a Bike (Jasmine), meeting Dermot O'Leary at the local bookshop (even nicer than he is on telly), going to the gym owned by newly crowned BBC Apprentice winner Rachel Woolford, picking flowers from the garden, the new Miss Me podcast, Jenny and Julia being legends and adding value to our team, lighter nights, the new sushi place in Chapel Allerton, pitch.com, Beryl bikes.

Good intentions for May
We're about to get going on some new campaigns for summer which we're really excited about, and we've won more great copywriting projects which we always love as we get to speak to interesting people and make their stories sing. Alongside that, we need to organise some long overdue team photography, think about a brand video for ourselves (instead of our clients!) and book our summer holidays. Where to go, what to do?! Help!
