New Client

Mojo Sauce hands PR and social brief to Content Soup

Summer’s hotting up, as we welcome Viva Cuba Foods to the Content Soup client mix. We’ve been appointed to support their retail brand, Mojo Sauce, through trade and consumer PR and a new social media strategy, and we’re only just getting started.

Mojo Sauce was founded by Leeds restaurateur Seb McGowan, owner of the much-loved Viva Cuba tapas restaurant on Kirkstall Road. He’s been spicing up dishes with the famous red and green sauces for over 20 years, and with his business partner, James Homer, they decided they could make the sauces work for retail.

The two distinctive sauces, originating from a grandmother’s family recipe in the Canary Islands and now made in Yorkshire, have gained a cult following in the sauces and condiments aisle, plugging a gap for Spanish variants. Perfect for dipping, pouring and marinating, the Great Taste award-winning Mojo Red is a sweet and smoky sauce staple, while Mojo Green trades on its garlic and fresh herbs flavour. It’s a close call, but Nina’s currently Team Red, while Jasmine’s Team Green.

They are currently available in Morrisons, Ocado and Co-op, and the two entrepreneurs are now on a mission to gain more listings and grow its following amongst consumers. Cue Content Soup.

James explains: “We want to expand into more supermarkets and delis, up our game on social and grow brand awareness amongst consumers through PR and influencer campaigns. Content Soup immediately got where we want to be and how to take us there. We’re excited to be working with them, it’s a great fit.”
