Content Soup diary, January ’23 (it was a blast)

It may well have lasted about 950 days, but January is finally over, and actually, it was a blast!

From taking over a children’s theme park, to having school dinners, here are just a few things we got up to to kick off 2023 in style.

⚡One cold evening in January, hundreds turned out to see Rotherham announce its plans for Children’s Capital of Culture this year. Alongside the talented young poets, dancers, rappers and skaters, we ran around Gulliver’s fielding media interviews, capturing the crowds on camera, vox-popping guests for a video documenting the event, and asking people for pledges of support. Next up on the PR front is a music festival, skate festival and epic art installation coming to Rotherham Minster in February.

⚡We had the absolute pleasure of visiting primary and secondary schools across the North to film staff at Outwood Grange Academies Trust talking about their love of teaching (Shout out to Lester Film Company and Foundry, who we're working with on this campaign, and the lovely canteen staff who fed us!)

⚡We met and interviewed 12 students for new content for the University of Bradford, telling the stories of a war veteran who’d found therapy from his PTSD in archaeology, someone who’d gone into labour in a lecture, and the first ever trans student officer for the uni. Always inspired by the people we meet through our work with Bradford.

⚡We also wrote 35 new course guides to be used on web and in mail packs to university applicants (in record time).

⚡Meanwhile in the world of law, we promoted a human rights programme in Tanzania through Leeds Beckett, and provided lots of reasons to choose Leeds Law School in the run up to UCAS application deadlines.

⚡And as well as getting property features in the press every. single. week. for our clients Manning Stainton, Ryder & Dutton and Mortimers, we also landed front page coverage in the Yorkshire Post property supplement, with predictions on how the 2023 housing market is going to pan out.

February is looking full to the brim of more fun, fulfilling work – and we’ll also celebrate our ninth (NINTH) birthday! How lucky are we.
