Last week we were lucky enough to be invited to give a PR workshop to the Leeds Beckett marketing team as part of its outside speaker programme that’s designed to inspire and innovate.

The award-winning marketing team at Leeds Beckett are known for their brilliant campaigns, so we knew we had to come up with something really thought provoking to make it worth their while and decided to focus on what PR is in 2015. Our workshop covered everything from how to create a great news story to the key influencer groups to consider when developing a campaign, the increasing crossover between PR and SEO and the power of generating strong links (including an overview of our very own link evaluation technique), before we finished with some examples of brilliant PR in action.

It went down a storm, but don’t just take our word for it. Here’s what one of the team said afterwards: “Thank you for organising today’s session with Content Soup – Nina and Jasmine were fantastic.  It made me realise how little I knew about what makes stories newsworthy but also about how much I’d love to know!  They were really inspiring and made me wish I’d taken a different career path.”
