Welcome to the Soup, Second Store

If you know the team at Content Soup, you’ll know that we’re much more likely to be found in a pair of trainers than tottering around in high heels - so we are really pleased to welcome Second Store to the Soup family this month!

We’ll be managing the launch and national PR for Second Store, the first female-only sneaker e-tailer in the UK. It’s got a super cool collection of trendsetting sneaker brands just for women, and has been set up by fellow Leeds #girlboss, Rosie Lyness, who wants to banish the bias towards males in the sneaker industry with a curated range of kicks for the femmes.

For the first time, the store brings together some of the most exciting international brands on the market, with seasonal collections from icons such as Vans, Saucony and Superga, and cult favourites Karhu, Veja and Spring Court. British-made sneakers from the infamous Norman Walsh are the latest addition to the leading collection, along with emerging designers Rose Rankin and Good News London. You won’t get styles that the whole high street is wearing – instead, sneakers are carefully selected in limited amounts to maintain a sense of exclusivity. Prices range from £50 - £175.

Content Soup is now on a mission to help this sneaker start-up get national recognition in the media, and we’ll be working with some of our Instagram favourites to help promote the footwear and push female sneakers right to the front of the shoe cabinet. We’ll also be profiling Rosie as the fierce young female entrepreneur that she is.

Rosie said she chose us because “I just knew Content Soup would get it immediately; get the concept, get what I wanted to achieve and get why I think it's important. Also I find it inspirational to work with women who are bossing their business so it keeps me moving forward and fighting to be included in conversations around equality.” Hear, hear!
