Things we love this week

1.  Puma's 'Flock to Unlock' Twitter campaign

Puma has become the first brand to use ‘Flock to Unlock’, Twitter’s new advertising programme that incentivises followers to drive awareness by sharing a post to unlock exclusive content.

The idea of Twitter’s ‘Flock to Unlock’ feature is to unlock a deal only when a certain number of followers retweet a particular message.

Puma’s been using the promotional tool to create interest in its Forever Faster campaign, ahead of the official launch today. Users who help reach the critical mass of tweets are treated to a sneak preview of the advert, which stars a host of famous sports stars.

We love this new feature and Puma’s done a great job of demonstrating its potential.

 2.  Sueno

We love our sleep and we love a good bed, so we’re over the moon to have been appointed by Sueno, a Yorkshire-based luxury bed and mattress manufacturer. We’ve been tasked with creating a strong online personality for the brand, ahead of a big PR push starting in the Autumn. We’ll be creating lots of advice pieces and lifestyle-related content for the brand, as well as driving its social media channels, which will see us deploying a variety of tactics to increase follower numbers and engagement levels.

3.  Beacons Festival

This weekend Content Soup is heading off to Skipton to enjoy a weekend full of music, arts, booze and food at Beacons Festival. There’s nothing we enjoy more than having fun in a field, and with a stellar line up, street food carts galore and a fancy dress disco, this Yorkshire festival’s shaping up to be a favourite.

4.  Thought Bubble

We’re very excited that tickets are now on sale for Thought Bubble Comic Arts Festival, which is taking place in Leeds this November. We’re proud to be managing the PR for Thought Bubble - and the festival is shaping up to be best yet, with lots of big name guests on the bill and a huge selection of creative workshops set to take place at venues throughout the city. Find out more, or buy yourself a ticket, here.

 5.  Loom-preneurs

Loom bands are the current craze sweeping the nation’s youth and we’ve noticed there’s not many bare wrists left in the world. This week saw two welsh women who’d made a dress out of loom bands sell it on eBay for more than £170,000. Real story or PR stunt? We’re not sure, but it has certainly captured the media’s attention and got the women who made the dress, and eBay, a whole host of great PR coverage.
