Social media success for Morgans

We recently presented an annual review to our client Morgans City Living and it went really well, so we thought we’d show off about it.

The big Leeds estate agent appointed us last year after we persuaded them to let us transform their social media presence and online content. If anyone knows Jonathan Morgan, the owner, they’ll know that if he does something, he wants to be the best at it. The challenge was on.

Our job was to make Morgans the anomaly – an estate agent that people actually want to follow on social media, and not just a place where tenants go to vent negativity. So rather than using Twitter and Facebook to promote different properties and putting people off with a salesy approach, our social strategy was to become a trusted voice for living in Leeds, a genuinely useful source of info and inspiration for getting the most out of living in the city.

From initial channel set up and strategy, to daily community management, what we’ve done throughout has worked. We’ve given Morgans a personality online that the target audience has warmed to, and grown its online communities and wider brand awareness far beyond expectation.

We’ve doubled Twitter followers and now got nearly 8,000 Facebook fans (we started with 52) - but more importantly, we’ve created a chatty community who like interacting with our posts. Every time we post, the notification alerts go nuts. We benchmark not only against other estate agents, but also against other established Leeds lifestyle guides – and we hold our own, and then some.

A creative content series that we came up with called #IAmLeeds focuses on the people of Leeds and their favourite bits about living here. We started this as a blogger campaign, hooking up with Leeds lifestyle bloggers, and now it’s become a weekly series on Facebook which gets our highest engagement rates and a waiting list of people wanting to take part. There’s even been talk of making it into a book! Watch this space.

We’re now at the point where venues in Leeds come to us to see if we can promote them on our pages. It’s a real sign of how far we’ve come in less than a year.

Next we’ve got exciting plans for Instagram and a new content hub on the website, amongst other content ideas for Facebook and Twitter based on audience insight we’ve picked up through keeping a close eye on analytics.

This is what the client says about us:

“WE IMMEDIATELY TRUSTED CONTENT SOUP TO TAKE US INTO THE WORLD OF CREATIVE ONLINE CONTENT AND SOCIAL MEDIA. THEY HAVE AN INHERENT KNOWLEDGE OF THE DIGITAL LANDSCAPE THAT MAKES YOU FEEL COMPLETELY CONFIDENT IN THEIR APPROACH WHICH IS ALWAYS CREATIVE AND AUDIENCE-FOCUSED.”
